Russia’s Anti-Satellite Testing

ASAT

Russia’s Anti-Satellite Testing

The recent ASAT test performed by Russia has been widely denounced for its irresponsibility as it introduced a huge amount of additional debris into space.  If there is any positive from this reprehensible act, it is that is has focused the world’s attention on the responsible use of the space around the earth.  Rogue Space Systems was founded specifically to accelerate peaceful, reliable and responsible management of assets in space.  The ever-growing amount of space debris is a central focus for Rogue’s development and we continue to be a leader in the US-based space industry in this area.

What has been less discussed around this incident is that it underscores the need for world-wide standards for the responsible use of the space around the earth.  It has become apparent that more international cooperation – including technical standards, procedural standards and parameters on allowable actions/systems in space – is badly needed.  Rogue Space Systems looks forward to our contribution to international efforts to ensure the frontier of outer space is efficiently, effectively and responsibly used for the benefit of all humanity.
