Future Capabilities

These capabilities are on our roadmap. Availability depends on mission configuration, regulatory approvals, and customer needs.

The capabilities described below are in active development and are not yet commercially available. Timelines are estimates based on current mission plans and may change based on technical progress, regulatory requirements, and customer demand.

Roadmap

Servicing & Life Extension

On-orbit mechanical and electrical servicing to restore satellite functionality and extend operational life. Includes orbit-raising, relocation, and graveyard transfer services for commercial and government customers.

Timeline: Targeted for Orbot™-3 era (2028+)

Related missions: Orbot-1 & Orbot-2 (RPO/D demos), Orbot™-3

Roadmap

Refueling & Logistics Depots

Propellant transfer and orbital resupply using standardized refueling ports and the Waypoint™ depot architecture. Enables extended-duration operations, multi-mission campaigns, and on-orbit resupply.

Timeline: Targeted for Waypoint™ depot operations (2029+)

Related missions: Orbot™-3 (refueling port validation), Waypoint™ depot

Roadmap

Docking & ISAM Enabling Architecture

Full autonomous docking with cooperative and non-cooperative targets. Standardized mechanical exchange (MEX) interfaces for in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM) operations.

Timeline: RPO/D demos NET Q4 2027

Related missions: Orbot-1 & Orbot-2 (twin RPO/D), Orbot™-3

Roadmap

Debris Management & Remediation

Active debris removal, end-of-life deorbiting, and responsible debris mitigation services. Leverages autonomous proximity operations and grappling capability developed through the OTP program.

Timeline: Targeted for operational Orbot™ fleet (2029+)
