[Laconia, NH | 06/06/2022] – Rogue Space Systems Corporation and Draper of Cambridge, MA announced today that the companies have entered a strategic partnership to develop technologies related to space situational awareness. This comes as a result of a recent funding selection through the SpaceWERX Orbital Prime initiative where Draper and Rogue entered into a teaming agreement to investigate the technology should the contract be awarded. Draper has a long history of space and defense technologies with a track record of innovation for over 90 years, while Rogue is a New Space Startup focused on delivering in-space services using their orbital robots they call OrbotsTM.
Draper is an independent, nonprofit engineering innovation company with a focus on national security, space exploration, transportation, energy and biomedical solutions. With a history of fostering and mentoring startup business, Draper views as an imperative its support of the new space economy. Through this effort, Draper has supported Rogue in submitting a proposal to the U.S. Space Force.
“The team at Draper has worked right alongside us here at Rogue to guide us through the complex processes and procedures it takes to perform work for our defense customers. We’ve been fortunate to have had our work together selected for funding through SpaceWERX Orbital Prime,” says Jeromy Grimmett, CEO of Rogue Space Systems. “Now, we can get to work to develop this technology and increase the capability of our US Space Force warfighters.”
“At Draper, we believe the new space economy benefits from partnerships with government, academia, industry and especially new business start-ups,” said Pete Paceley, principal director of Commercial and Civil Space Systems at Draper.
